As I considered what message I wanted to convey in this quarter’s newsletter, I kept circling back to the importance of communication and how that underpins so much that we do, and unfortunately can form the basis for undesired outcomes or conflicts when we don’t communicate well. In turn, communication becomes the foundation for effective teamwork. Both are pillars of STEC’s core principles and so it is fitting to reflect on these and choose to actively grow these skills. These two elements are essential to our success as a cooperative, and they play a vital role in our ability to provide reliable and affordable electricity to our Members.
Effective communication is crucial to ensuring that we are all on the same page and working towards the same goals. Clear and open communication helps to ensure that everyone is informed of any developments or issues that may impact our service to our members. Whether it's a planned outage, a service interruption, or a rate change, we want to ensure that everyone is kept informed and has the information they need to make informed decisions. Open communication also helps to identify any issues or concerns that may arise and to find solutions that benefit everyone.
Teamwork is equally important to the success of STEC. By working together, we can achieve far more than we can as individuals. We are all committed to providing reliable and affordable electricity to our Members, and by working together, we can ensure that we are meeting their needs and exceeding their expectations.
Teamwork also fosters a sense of community and cooperation among our coworkers. When we work together towards a common goal, we build trust and respect for one another. This not only makes our work environment more pleasant, but also enables us to work more efficiently and effectively.
I am committed to fostering a culture of communication and teamwork in which to work. I encourage all of us to prioritize communication and teamwork in all of our interactions. Whether it's through emails, meetings, phone calls, or face-to-face conversations, let's make sure that we are communicating clearly, listening actively, and providing constructive feedback when necessary. I value your feedback and input, and clear communication enables me to understand your needs and preferences. This also continuously improves our ability to make each employee successful, and in turn make our Members and STEC successful. By keeping the lines of communication open, we can ensure that STEC is meeting and exceeding everyone’s expectations.
Thank you for your dedication and hard work, and let's continue to communicate effectively and work together as a team towards our common goal of providing reliable and affordable electricity to our Members!
