STEC currently have an open position for Manager of Wholesale Marketing/QSE at its Nursery, Texas location. The Manager of Wholesale Marketing/QSE supervises the activities of STEC in the ERCOT Wholesale Market including Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE) services. Supervises and directs the scheduling, buying, and selling of power and natural gas, transmission analysis, and the settlement of ERCOT and bilateral transactions.
Implements, monitors, and evaluates complex programs including but not limited to generation dispatch, QSE operations, wholesale energy market analysis, energy risk management, transmission system analysis, portfolio analysis, fuel procurement and energy supply and sales. Authorizes load estimates, natural gas transactions, capacity and energy transactions and related resource schedules and ensures coordination of those transactions/schedules with power plant personnel. Supervises the settlement of these services as part of the STEC QSE functions. Devises and implements energy and natural gas hedging strategies; contracts short-term and long-term energy and natural gas transactions in accordance with those strategies and with the agreement of Management as required. Supervises, directs, and represents STEC’s interests in the ERCOT stakeholder process. Attends meetings and conferences as necessary to advance STEC’s interests. Directs the provision of monthly billing reports and coordinates future budgeting needs for fuel, capacity and energy with the CFO. Plans and supervises the work and training schedules of personnel and sets priorities for the Wholesale Marketing/QSE department. Manages systems development, implementation, and integration for ERCOT settlement, market operations, load forecasting and dispatching. Develops monthly and ad hoc reports for the Manager of Power Supply, General Manager, and the Board of Directors. Ensures compliance for the STEC QSE under NERC Standards, ERCOT Protocols and PUCT Substantive Rules. Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
Working conditions:
General office and sedentary. May frequently be required to walk; stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, photocopier, and calculator. Ability to travel to and from meetings or other business-related events. May be required to work after hours, weekends and holidays and respond timely to urgent or emergency situations.
