Responsible for identification, negotiation and acquisition of land rights with property owners which support the development and operation of electric transmission facilities of the company, for continuing contacts with third-party owners, and for maintaining the records of the company with respect to its inventory of land rights and property contacts. Job includes research and evaluation of land targets, identification of landowners, acting as public liaison on behalf of the company with third parties, negotiation of agreements relating to land acquisition and/or use, engaging with professionals for the evaluation of title, property agreements, and suitability of property condition for intended use while analyzing property appraisals. Requires field work and preparation of various reports to management. Performs other clerical tasks in relation to land transactions as necessary. Has knowledge of real estate concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the position. Also operates computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering-related tasks incident to land identification and evaluation. Compiles data and writes reports regarding existing or potential projects under direction of Manager of Engineering.
Working Conditions
In and out of office, including excursions to field for site research, investigations and evaluations, contact with public officials, meeting with property owners, real estate professionals, trouble-shooting. Office work is general office and sedentary. May frequently be required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, ability to reach, bend, and use 2-step stool while safely lifting and lowering boxes. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
